“Going with the flow”

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WATSU®
Free from gravity. Free from thought. Freedom for the body.

Watsu® ‘water shiatsu’ is a specific method of aquatic therapy where the Practitioner gently cradles, moves, stretches, and massages the Receiver in coordination with their breathing, in a pool or hot tub with water heated to 89°F – 95°F (32-35°C), which is close to the body temperature.

It can be a session where you might be floating on stillness , but it can also be a very dinamic dance

The outcome of a session goes beyond of traditional on-table massage.

You can bring your own swim shirt or top, earplugs, flip-flops, towel, toiletries and a fabric swimming cap

Floating Aids are available

It was created by Harold Dull in California in 1980.

It integrates physical and mental well-being bridging together Western and Eastern philosophies streteching the meridians related to the different systems, organs and functions of the body.

Craniosacral Therapy
in water™

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle but powerful NON-INVASIVE and PAIN-FREE approach to healing the body.

Based on the application of WATSU® therapy, craniosacral therapy (CST), manual therapy, and Myofascial Induction Therapy (MIT)® suspended and surrounded by the aquatic environment, CST in Water™ primarily addresses asymmetry or imbalance in the fluid and membranes that protect the spinal cord and brain.

By focusing on the craniosacral system (which includes the bones, membranes, and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord) and using light palpation, the aim is to release and untangle restrictions within the system and related tissues, organs or muscles, assisting the body’s innate self-healing mechanisms to reactivate an unwind relieving pain and dysfunction restoring the overall health of the person.

The therapeutic intervention comes from an attitude of being with the person, not doing to the person.
